Maureen Higgins was appointed as a member of the Alberta Utilities Commission ​in May 2025. Prior to her appointment, Maureen served in executive roles with Canadian Utilities, EY, AltaLink and Telus, and as an executive leader across many industries, including digital consulting and utility operations in technology and cyber security. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Nova Scotia Independent Energy System Operator.

Maureen holds a bachelor of arts degree, an MBA, and the Institute of Corporate Directors Director (ICD.D) designation.
