Chair of the Professional Conduct Board

Before retiring, Dave Dickson worked for 34 years at a mid-size Canadian financial services provider that also operates in the U.S. and U.K.
 
Starting in the actuarial department, he became the pricing actuary, responsible for products in the company’s three territories. He joined senior management and held various responsibilities, including for administration, information technology and actuarial services. After retiring, he consulted on the introduction of IFRS standards for the company.
 
Dave is a member of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, serving as a volunteer for over 20 years in various roles, including as CIA President for 2016-17. He is currently chair of the Professional Conduct Board, which deals with member discipline issues.
 
Independently, Dave has served on three condo boards: in a townhouse condominium in Toronto; on the board of a large apartment-style condo in Toronto, including as president; and, more recently, on the board of a condo in Huntsville, where he also served as president.
 
Dave is also on the board of the Canadian Club of Halton, a non-profit volunteer organization in Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe.
